Custom event napkins: cocktail vs dinner, foil colors and quantities

Cocktail or dinner?

Cocktail napkins go at the bar and with passed bites. Dinner (luncheon) napkins go on the table. Many events use both.

A common rule of thumb is two to three cocktail napkins per guest for a cocktail hour. Confirm with your planner or caterer.

Short wins: initials, a first-names-and-date line, a logo or a boat name. Fine detail can fill in on soft napkins, so keep lines bold.

Gold and silver read well on white and ivory. Ask for a mockup before you commit.
